HR Administrator

£25,000- £31,000 pro rata (depending on experience)

This post is offered on a full-time or part-time basis (minimum 20 hours per week), with the exact hours to be agreed with the successful candidate.

We are currently launching a system for isolating and culturing single-cells based on the company's innovative fluid manipulation technology. This technology is designed to aid in stem-cell research and drug discovery applications.

Job description

The HR and Office Administrator will take on the leading role in all HR activities of iotaSciences. You will be a core part of recruitment, talent identification and on-boarding for our expanding company, as well as being responsible for maintaining all confidential personnel records. You will also assist with the general office administrative tasks as required. As the sole HR administrator for the growing company you will initially report directly to the CEO or his nominee, and work closely with the company’s in-house lawyer and office administrator on various initiatives/tasks.

Your responsibilities as the HR administrator will include:
  • Forming and maintaining employee records, e.g. holidays & sick days
  • Managing the on-boarding of new employees
  • Preparing and amending where necessary HR documents, i.e. employment contracts and recruitment guides
  • Reviewing and renewing company policies and legal compliance
  • Creation and implementation of new company policies
  • Focal point for recruitment/on-boarding
  • Being the first point of contact for employees on HR related queries
  • Assisting with payroll/pensions
  • Assisting with employee reviews/interviews
  • Assisting in day to day activities of the business
  • Any other Ad-hoc duties as required to support the business
The successful applicant will be expected to have experience in the following:
  • At least 3 years HR administration experience, along with general office administration
  • Ability to work independently
  • High level of computer literacy; especially Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Good understanding and knowledge of maintaining employee records
  • Organisational skills and ability to prioritise
  • Interpersonal with good communicative skills
  • Awareness of Data protection and information security guidelines, and appropriate discretion when dealing with confidential information
Desirable
  • CIPD level 3/Degree in HR or related field
  • Experience/good understanding of GDPR
  • Experience as a PA

iotaSciences main offices are at Begbroke Science Park in Yarton, serviced by a complementary bus from Oxford City Centre - runs ~ 30 minutes.
