Field Applications Scientist

The isoCell is a revolutionary benchtop-system that allows customers to accelerate the cloning of single cells, including stem cells.

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join a multidisciplinary and highly dynamic company as Field Applications Scientist.

If you wish to bring new products to market, drive and support the adoption of technology in the field, and have a hands-on mentality, then this offer might be for you.

The successful candidate will provide technical support and training to clients and customers, diagnose and troubleshoot the company’s instruments, support the development and evolution of instruments, and will also support the development of additional applications using the innovative fluid-shaping capabilities developed by iotaSciences. Besides R&D activity, this role has both, pre-sale and post-sale functionality and therefore, will closely interact with the sales as well as product-development teams.

iotaSciences main offices are serviced by a complementary bus from Oxford City Centre - runs ~ 30 minutes.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide technical training to customers, including wet-lab demonstrations and software training
  • Provide continuous support to customers pre- and post-sale, in person, via phone, e-mail or web
  • Present to scientific audiences in academic/industry settings as well as represent the company at international conferences and exhibitions
  • Participate in the development of new products, including supporting materials as well as feasibility testing
  • Support the development of training material, courses and workshops
  • The position entails travelling to represent the company inside/outside the UK on a regular basis
Requirements
  • BSc degree in life sciences or related discipline with a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience in molecular-and cell biology/biochemistry lab, 3+ years for applicants with MSc/PhD degree
  • Good knowledge and understanding of stem cell research; in particular, iPSCs and ES-cells
  • Experience in optimising and establishing workflows related to cell biology
  • Strong data analyses and presentation skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel, including international travel

Stem Cell Research Scientist

Job description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join a multidisciplinary and highly dynamic company as Research Scientist, with a particular focus on iPSCs and ES-cells.

The position requires hands-on experience in stem cell biology, such as expansion and banking of iPSCs, reprogramming, differentiation, gene-editing, disease modeling and drug screening.

The successful candidate will assess and optimise existing assays and workflows, as well as develop novel assays and applications using iotaSciences' fluid-manipulating technology in conjunction with iPSCs and ES-cells, in addition to conventional cell lines.
The position requires expertise in various methods, such as cell culturing, transfection, genome-editing, gene expression analyses (Next-generation sequencing & RT-PCR), (fluorescence) microscopy, molecular cloning, and marker analyses.

Electrical and Software Design Engineer


An excellent opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic engineer to join a growing Engineering team at iotaSciences. iotaSciences is a young biotech spin-out company of the University of Oxford. We are currently launching a system for isolating and culturing single-cells based on the company's innovative fluid manipulation technology. As an Electrical Design Engineer, this role would have a particular focus on:

  • Electrical prototyping, PCB design and layout
  • Microcontroller programming (C/C++)
  • Windows app creation
  • User interface design

However, being part of a new start-up company means that the full product development, launch and support will be handled as a team and all engineers will be expected to have a good understanding of the full system. The flexibility to work on all aspects of the engineering process in essential.

New members of the team should have a strong interest in design, manufacture and product development and be able to pick up new skills quickly. Further examples of useful skills include:

  • Product design for low volume manufacture, both mechanical and electrical
  • Basic knowledge of EMI, ESD, etc
  • Use of MCAD and ECAD
  • Software development

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join a multidisciplinary and highly dynamic company as marketing communications and lead generation manager.

Reports to Sales Director/CEO
Direct Reports: None
Primary Purpose: To proactively develop and implement the marketing communications and lead generation strategy to support the achievement of agreed revenue and market share targets in line with the company strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • To proactively develop and implement the Global Marcomms strategy to grow awareness, revenue and achieve market share in line with the company strategy
  • Responsibility for developing and positioning the Iota Sciences brand in line with guidelines set by the CEO and sales director through consistent communications (advertising, PR & web), trade shows & exhibitions, sponsorship, merchandising and collateral
  • Plan and administer the Iota marketing operations budget through consultation with CEO and Sales Director
  • Develop and manage the administration of the Iota Sciences CRM database and Marketing Automation Platform which includes lead generation / nurturing, contact, opportunity and customer information and lead fulfilment
  • Take responsibility for website, eMarketing campaigns (e.g social media, e-blasts, webinars) etc. Plan and manage the implementation of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), driving and increasing traffic to the Iota Sciences website
  • Manage the concepts, content and distribution of marketing collateral, both physical and web-based to sales and other relevant parties via the most appropriate channel/s
  • Plan and execute both the online and print advertising
  • Project management of marketing related projects including support for trade shows and exhibitions, conferences and seminars while ensuring that the brand identity and up to date product messaging is implemented
  • Own and manage the global rolling marketing plan for Iota Sciences
  • Organise design/layout and act as Editor for customer facing documents such as application notes, technical data sheets, white papers, sales information documents and others
